BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Isaac Sosa scored a season-high 25 points and hit the clinching free throws as Canisius overcame a 10-point first-half deficit, then held on to beat Manhattan 64-60 and snap a two-game skid.
The Golden Griffins (11-7, 4-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) closed the first half on a 17-4 run to lead 28-25 at intermission. Canisius built its biggest lead at 60-47 with 3:57 to go, but saw it dwindle as the Jaspers reeled off 11 straight points to make it 60-58 with 36 seconds left.
After Chris Manhertz answered with two free throws with 18 seconds remaining, Michael Alvarado's layup 8 seconds later made it 62-60. Sosa hit both of his foul shots with 8 seconds to go and Shane Richards committed his only turnover of the game on Manhattan's final possession.
Harold Washington added 12 points for Canisius.
Richards and Alvarado scored 18 apiece for the Jaspers (5-12, 3-4).
