LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Mike Muscala had 20 points and 13 rebounds for his 11th double-double of the season as Bucknell used a big first-half run to defeat Army 76-55 Saturday night in the Patriot League opener for both teams.
The Bison (14-3), who have won three of their last four games, trailed by seven early. With the Black Knights leading 17-12, Bucknell used a 20-2 spurt to take control.
Army could get no closer than 14 in the second half. Playing without Jordan Springer (4.3 rebounds per game), who was out with a shoulder injury, the Black Knights (7-9) were outrebounded 36-28.
Muscala made 5 of 11 field goals and 10 of 10 free throws. Joe Willman added 18 points and Cameron Ayers 15 for the Bison.
Ella Ellis, who scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half, became the 12th player in Army history to record 1,300 career points.
