DELAND, Fla. -- Greg Gantt scored a career-high 34 points to lead Florida Atlantic over Stetson 88-78 Thursday night in a nonconference game.
The senior guard made his first six shots for the Owls (4-4), including four 3-pointers, to stake Florida Atlantic to a 20-7 lead after 6 minutes, 36 seconds. He had 21 points by halftime, and FAU led 41-28 at the break.
It was the fourth consecutive game of at least 20 points for Gantt, who was averaging 19.1 per game.
Stetson's Adam Pegg scored 18 of his 24 points in the second half and the Hatters (2-5) got as close as seven points, 61-54, with 10:01 left. FAU maintained the advantage with free throws, making 17 of 21 the rest of the way.
Moody, who made 9 of 11 free throws in that stretch, finished with 17 points, and Pablo Bertone and Jordan McCoy scored 12 each.
