MOSCOW, Idaho -- Stephen Madison had 21 points, Kyle Barone had 12 and Idaho needed a 26 for 31 effort from the free-throw line to get past visiting UC Davis on Saturday night 73-66.
Madison was 7 of 14 from the field and pulled six rebounds. Barone added eight rebounds and three assists to his point total and Connor Hill chipped in with 11.
Idaho (2-4) shot 42 percent from the field, hitting 21 of 50 shot attempts, and out-rebounded the Aggies 35 to 24. The Vandals were up 38-35 at halftime and led by as many as 13 in the second half.
Corey Hawkins led UC Davis (1-4) with 20 points and six assists. Ryan Sypkens had 14 points and Ryan Howley had nine points and 10 rebounds. The Aggies were 25 of 53 from the field, shooting at 47.2 percent, and shot 28 3-pointers, only to make eight.
