LOGAN, Utah -- Jarred Shaw and Preston Medlin scored 17 points each as Utah State defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 77-68 on Saturday night.
Kyisean Reed added 15 points for the Aggies (2-1), who shot 56.8 percent (25 of 44) from the floor.
Will Nelson scored 17 points and Johnathan Jordan added 13 for the Islanders (1-2).
Utah State led 31-28 early in the second half when it broke the game open with an 18-2 run over a 4:07 stretch. Reed, Medlin and Shaw scored six points each during the surge.
The Aggies won the rebounding battle 33-23 and outscored Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 32-20 in the paint.
