KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kirk Korver scored 17 points to lead UMKC over Lincoln (Mo.), 99-64 on Tuesday night in its home opener.
Korver was 6 of 8 from the field, including 5 of 6 from 3-point range. Trinity Hall, Thomas Staton and Alton Tanner each added 9 points. Brad Reid had nine rebounds.
The Kangaroos (1-1) shot 60 percent from the field.
UMKC had a 51-29 lead over the Division II team.
Charles Cole led the Blue Tigers with 20 points, including two 3-point shots, and 10 rebounds. He was 6 of 14 from the field. Darius Whitson added 9 points for the Blue Tigers (0-2). Shakir Preston had 8 points and six assists.
The game marked the fourth consecutive year that UMKC has faced a Division II team for its home opener.
