RADFORD, Va. -- R.J. Price scored 16 points and Radford defeated Cincinnati Christian 76-71 in overtime Monday night after squandering a 21-point lead.
The Highlanders (1-1) outscored the NAIA Eagles 12-7 in the extra session, leading by as many as nine.
Javonte Green added 14 points and 13 rebounds for Radford in the Eastern Kentucky/Comfort Suites Invitational.
The Highlanders, who opened their season with a 12-point loss at Wake Forest, led 14-3 after eight minutes and 39-20 at the break.
After Brandon Holcomb's two free throws put Radford ahead by 21 to open the second half, Cincinnati Christian (0-4) chipped away, getting to 60-58 with 3:51 remaining.
The Eagles pulled ahead on Kenny Gaynor's layup with 2:11 to go. Radford, which made only 7 of 24 field goals after halftime, regained a two-point advantage before D. J. McCommons' jumper forced overtime.
Young led Cincinnati Christian with 23 points, hitting 5 of 11 3-pointers.
