BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) -- Steve Panos scored 14 points and Arturas Valeika added 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead Weber State to a 61-56 victory over Cal State Bakersfield Monday night.

Dezmon Harrison and Juan Pablo Silveira added nine points each for the Wildcats (2-2).

Terrence Johns scored 11 points and Santwon Latunde and Zack Grasmick chipped in 10 points apiece for Bakersfield (1-3).

Weber State held a 28-23 lead at the break, before Bakersfield went up 43-41 midway through the second period on a three-pointer by Johns.

But the Roadrunners couldn't hold on as a Silveira layup with nine minutes remaining gave the Wildcats a lead they would never relinquish.
