VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Against top-ranked

Connecticut, talented guards Kyle Lowry and Allan Ray led the

way. On Sunday, Randy Foye joined in the fun.

Foye scored 12 of his 22 points over a seven-minute span in the

second half and Lowry and Ray hit two clutch shots apiece late

as fourth-ranked Villanova posted a 75-65 victory over No. 17

Georgetown.

Lowry scored 16 of his 18 points in the first half and Ray

knocked down five 3-pointers after intermission en route to 25

points for the game as the Wildcats (21-2, 11-1 Big East) dumped

Connecticut, 69-64, on Monday.

Foye, who was held to 10 points on 3-of-10 shooting against the

Huskies, took over this one after Jeff Green nailed a 3-pointer

to give Georgetown a 38-37 lead four minutes into the second

half. The senior guard sparked a 20-9 run with three free

throws, a shot from the arc and three driving layups to give

Villanova a 57-47 edge with eight minutes left.

The Hoyas (17-7, 8-5) pulled within two and missed a 3-pointer

for the lead with 5 1/2 minutes to go before Foye's sidekicks

picked up the slack. Lowry converted a three-point play and

another acrobatic drive and Ray drained two shots from the arc

and added a free throw to extend the lead to 71-62 with 1:48

left.

Despite giving up several inches to the Hoyas' frontline, the

Wildcats held their own on the boards. Villanova held a 31-30

edge on the glass, scored 17 points off 10 Georgetown turnovers

and had just three itself, including none after the

intermission.

Foye shot 8-of-16 from the floor and grabbed eight rebounds.

Ray scored 20 points on 6-of-14 shooting and Lowry finished with

13 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Mike

Nardi added 11 as Villanova recorded its second 10-game winning

streak this season.

Roy Hibbard, a 7-2 center, had 20 points and 12 rebounds for the

Hoyas, who lost a season-high third straight game. Ashanti

Cook added 16 points and Green 15.

The Wildcats, who made 7-of-9 3-pointers during their

second-half contest in the win over Connecticut, got off to a

hot start from the arc Sunday. They made their first six

3-pointers and took a 26-20 edge with 8:47 left in the first

half.

But Georgetown tightened up and Villanova missed its next 11

from the arc and settled for a 30-28 advantage at the break.

The Wildcats finished 12-of-27 from the arc.
