HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) -- Landon Quick hit a layup in the final

second of the game Wednesday to give High Point University a 73-72

Big South Conference victory over VMI.

Mike Jefferson scored 19 points, including five three-pointers,

Arizona Reid had 18 points and nine rebounds and Akeem Scott scored

15 for the Panthers (13-10, 6-7 Big South).

The Keydets' went ahead with a basket with 20 seconds remaining

and Quick followed up on Scott's misses shot for the win just

before the buzzer.

VMI freshman Travis Holmes scored 20 points to lead the Keydets

(7-17, 2-11). Reggie Williams scored 19 points, including 17 in the

second half, and had seven rebounds.

VMI's Matt Murrer scored 12 points and had his sixth

double-double and a game leading 13 rebounds.
