Longwood 87, Shenandoah 68

FARMVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Dana Smith had 17 points and 10 rebounds

to lead Longwood to an 87-68 win over Shenandoah on Wednesday

night.

Five other players scored in double digits for the Lancers

(7-17), who led 40-36 at halftime.

James Brodie tied the game at 52 for the Hornets (9-11) with

12:13 left. Longwood quickly rebounded, going on a 13-3 run that

put the Lancers up 65-55 with 8:16 to play.

Brandon Giles, Maurice Sumter and Lamar Barrett each scored 15

points, Clayton Morgan had 13 and Kirk Williams added 11 for

Longwood.

Jeremiah Lawrence led the Hornets with 17 points, Steven Johns

added 15, Mouktar Fawehinmi had 12 points and eight rebounds, and

Brodie had 10.

Longwood scored 28 points off Shenandoah's 20 turnovers. The

Hornets were held to 48.1 percent shooting, while Longwood went

52.5 percent from the field.
