Rhode Island 79, Duquesne 69

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) -- Jamaal Wise had 17 points and 12

rebounds Wednesday night to lead Rhode Island to a 79-69 win over

Duquesne.

Dawan Robinson helped with 21 points for Rhode Island, which

broke a three-game losing streak with the victory. Will Daniels

added 17 points and eight rebounds.

Bryant McAllister led Duquesne (3-18, 1-9, Atlantic 10) with a

career-high 36 points.

Rhode Island (12-9, 6-4, Atlantic 10) hit six 3-pointers,

including two during a 12-0 run in the second half. Jimmy Baron's

3-pointer gave Rhode Island a 14 point lead with 12:40 left to

play. Rhode Island had led 41-33 at the half.

McAllister helped keep Duquesne within striking distance. He hit

a 3-pointer to pull Duquesne within 55-51 with just under 10

minutes left.

Terrence Mack answered for Rhode Island with a 3-point play of

his own. He finished with 11 points.

McAllister's 36 points was the highest total by a Duquesne

player in nearly 10 years. His eight 3-pointers tied a school

record.
