Louisiana Tech 75, Boise State 72

BOISE, Idaho (AP) -- Paul Millsap hit an off-balance 3-point shot

as time expired Thursday night to give Louisiana Tech a thrilling

75-72 win over Boise State in the Western Athletic Conference

opener for both teams.

With the score tied at 72, Millsap chased down Chad McKenzie's

errant shot that caromed off the rim and outside the 3-point line,

turned and threw up a desperation shot over Boise State's Tez Banks

before falling to the floor as the horn sounded. The Bulldog bench

raced onto the floor in celebration as a stunned crowd looked on.

Millsap finished with 18 points -- 12 in the second half -- and 15

rebounds. He also had two assists and two blocks.

Eric Lane led Boise State (7-5) with 13 points, including three

of four 3-point attempts, while Coby Karl scored all 12 of his

points in the second half for the Broncos. Seth Robinson and Mat

Bauscher scored 10 apiece for Boise State.

Michael Wilds scored 11 points for Louisiana Tech (8-5), hitting

three of four 3-point attempts and Corey Dean added 10.

Boise State took a 72-70 lead on Kenny Wilson's 3-pointer with

4:36 left, and Millsap tied it at 72 when he scored on an offensive

rebound with 3:20 remaining, setting the stage for his game-winning

shot.

Louisiana Tech dominated the boards, outrebounding Boise State

41-21.
