NEW YORK (AP) -- Jose Olivero scored 13 of his 21 points in
Lehigh's big closing run and the Mountain Hawks beat Columbia 65-57
on Monday night, the Lions' fourth straight loss.
Bryan White added 11 points for the Mountain Hawks (6-8), who
won on the road for the first time this season by outscoring
Columbia 26-9 over the final 9:19
K.J. Matsui was 5-of-8 from 3-point range and had 17 points for
the Lions (6-6), while John Baumann scored 14 and Dragutin Kravic
11.
Columbia led 48-39 when the Mountain Hawks went on a 13-4 run
capped by Olivero's 3-pointer with 5:14 remaining.
Lehigh took a 56-55 lead on Olivero's layup off a steal with
4:10 to play and extended the lead to 58-55 when White converted a
layup off a pass from Kyle Neptune with 2:10 left.
Lehigh made five of six free throws over the final 33 seconds to
clinch the victory.
Columbia's starting center Ben Nwachukwu left the game with 2:05
to go in the first half after apparently injuring his right knee in
a collision while chasing a loose ball. He did not return.
