Butler 79, Youngstown State 59

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) -- Brandon Polk scored 24 points to lead

Butler to a 79-59 win over Youngstown State on Wednesday.

Bruce Horan scored 13 points, and Avery Sheets and Jamie

Smalligan added 12 each for the Bulldogs (12-14, 6-9 Horizon

League), who led by as many as 25 points. Sheets also had seven

assists.

The Penguins (5-21, 2-13) trailed 44-32 at halftime, and opened

the second half with a 3-pointer by Quin Humphrey to trim the lead

to nine. But Butler responded with a 15-4 run over the next six

minutes to make it 59-39 with 13:45 to play.

Butler shot 59.2 percent from the field, and held Youngstown

State to 46.8 percent shooting.

Brian Radakovich led Youngstown State with 14 points, and

Humphrey added 11. Khari McQueen and Derrik Harris added 10 each.
