Portland 82, Idaho State 73

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) -- Pooh Jeter scored 24 points in

Portland's 82-73 win over Idaho State Monday night.

The Pilots (6-2) started slowly only hitting one of their first

twelve shots, but Jeter hit three 3-pointers in a little over a

minute to break open the game late in the first half.

Idaho State (2-3) trailed 50-30 at the half but refused to give

up. The Bengals kept slicing into Portland's lead throughout the

second half.

Arzelle Lewis hit a three point shot with :57 left cutting the

Pilots lead to 75-68.

However Portland converted seven free throws to close out the

game, with Jeter hitting five of them. Jeff Gardner led Idaho State

in scoring with 19 points.
