Roberto De Zerbi has said that when his Tottenham Hotspur team clicks, he believes they "are going to win many games and score many goals."
The Spurs head coach was speaking after Spurs were knocked out of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 loss to Liverpool on Tuesday. Four games into the new Premier League season, Tottenham are still searching for their first goal of the campaign.
Conor Gallagher's second-half header at Anfield was the first goal Spurs have scored against top-flight opposition this season.
Despite the scoreline, Tottenham did edge Liverpool on xG (2.34 vs. 1.53), possession (56% vs. 44%), shots (17 vs. 12) and shots on target (6 vs. 5) and De Zerbi said that he sees signs that things are coming together for his new-look team.
"We have to be stronger," De Zerbi said. "I think last season was a school. I think it has to be a school for everyone. Now we are unlucky, because it's clear we have to improve many, many things, but also this night we played well, we created more chances, we shot more times, we got more corners than Liverpool. We could score more goals.
"I remember six, seven clear chances to score. Lucas Bergvall, Kudus and Udogie. In the second half, a couple with Marmoush, one Sávio, one Bergvall, another corner. I can't say nothing today.
"Now, my focus is on Villa and we have to prepare our best in the next game with this mentality to find this click.
"We are suffering because the results are our life, no? If we lose, we are sorry, we are sad, we are disappointed, we are frustrated. It's tough, no? But it's the first moment, the first part of this new project. I think when we make the click... but the click is not mentality, because today we showed the right mentality, the right behaviour and we played until the end of the game. I think we are going to win many games and score many goals."

Tottenham host also-winless Aston Villa in north London on Saturday in their next fixture and the Spurs boss has called on his team to sharpen up in the final third.
"We have to shoot more times and we have to shoot better and we have to finish better the clear situations but we are sorry for the result, disappointed, frustrated," he said.
"We have to be stronger in these unlucky moments because I am honest with myself and with you. I think this five or six games we have been for sure not lucky.
"I believe in my players, I have a big opinion of them and when we arrive to finally click to win a game we will enjoy it with these players because the look of the players is incredible.
"It is a tough moment but we have to be stronger."
