Germany v Curaçao

Comenencia made history for his nation by scoring Curacao's first World Cup goal to cancel out Nmecha's early opener. But, that's as good as it got, with Germany 3-1 up at the break as Schlotterbeck headed home and Havertz netted from the penalty spot. Musiala stretched the lead shortly after the restart, before Brown and Undav got in on the act. Havertz then provided a wonderful clipped finish to complete the most comfortable of victories late on, as Germany – who had a vastly superior xG of 3.91 to 0.4 – started in style. A much tougher test is in store when they face the Ivory Coast next Saturday, while Curacao will hope for a better result when they play Ecuador in their second group game.
