The move I love to hate: CrossFit star Camille Leblanc-Bazinet's burpee with a back flip

CrossFit athlete Camille Leblanc-Bazinet has competed in nine CrossFit Games -- and won the "Fittest Woman on Earth" title in 2014. This year, she will compete at the USA weightlifting national championships starting May 9 in Memphis, Tennesee.

Leblanc-Bazinet showed us how even the best athletes in the world turn to some of the most fundamental exercises -- like the burpee -- to develop their incredible strength. And sometimes she adds her own jaw-dropping variation:

The move: A classic burpee. Sometimes I like to get a little crazy with it just for fun. The back flip is just to show that we can do tons of variation of the movements. I try to challenge myself with movements to stay as athletic as possible.

How to do a standard burpee: Do a push-up, then stand and jump, arms overhead. Return to push-up. Go as fast as you can while maintaining good push-up form. I usually do somewhere between 50-100 burpees in a workout. When I do back flips, I do about 10-15 because I get dizzy!

When I do it: I do burpees at least twice a week.

Why I do it: It's just a good overall workout. Plus the fact that we can cycle it fast for a long period of time makes it also a good monostructural workout. It's literally everything that you need to be fit.

Why it's so killer: It's hard because it's a big range of motion and a compound movement that utilizes the upper and lower body.
