Midway through a breakout sophomore season in the WNBA, Connecticut Sun forward Jonquel Jones is headed to Seattle this weekend to play with the league's best in her first All-Star Game appearance.
Jones leans on her pregame playlist to get herself in the right mindset before taking the floor for the Sun -- and it's clearly working. Halfway through the season, Jones is averaging a double-double of 15.8 points and a league-leading 11.2 rebounds per game.
Jones favors rap music for her pregame sounds, which includes artists like Big Sean and J. Cole.
"I definitely listen to 'Rise and Shine' by J. Cole," Jones said. "I have to listen to that before every game. It just talks about stepping into the moment and being ready for what life is handing to you."
While some songs hold a more profound importance for Jones, others simply serve as a reminder for the game ahead: It's time to tap into her inner Allen Iverson.
"'White Iverson' by Post Malone," Jones said. "I definitely listen to that before every game. Got to remind yourself that you have a little A.I. in ya."
