What could possibly be important enough to make Taylor Swift break her post-Kimye drama Twitter silence? The Final Five winning team gold in Rio, that's what.
On Wednesday afternoon, a day after the power squad of Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian took down the rest of the gymnastics world by a record margin of 8.209 points, T-Swizzle brushed off her Twitter fingers for a shoutout to the champs:
Sending my biggest congratulations to Simone, Aly, Laurie, Gabby and Madison! YOU DID IT GIRLS!! 🇺🇸 #FinalFive
— Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) August 10, 2016
While her congratulatory tweet was sweet, and probably typed with the best of intentions, the Swift naysayers -- mostly composed of her once loyal fans who view her recent handling of the Calvin Harris/Tom Hiddleston/Kanye West situations with the utmost suspicion -- are sure to question her motives.
Could it be that the singer noticed her social media nemesis Kim K. was getting uber-chummy with America's new sweetheart, Simone Biles? We're not here to speculate, but we are here to tell you Aly Raisman was hyped about the shoutout:
@taylorswift13 I ❤️ your song 22 because I'm 22 hehe... And next time you're in Boston lets go shopping 👌🏻👍🏻🇺🇸😋💁🏻
— Alexandra Raisman (@Aly_Raisman) August 10, 2016
Can we get this girl a squad invite or what? Also, feel free to let us know when that shopping trip's going down. Just saying, I might be free that day.
If Raisman's response didn't make it clear how much the Final Five appreciated Tay Tay's recognition, Biles' longtime gymnastics coach chimed in with a picture capturing the girls reaction upon learning of the tweet:
@taylorswift13 I just showed the girls and they about passed out from excitement. Thanks for your support! 🇺🇸 pic.twitter.com/pv8eqLZurR

It looks like congratulatory tweets never go out of style. Sorry, I couldn't help myself.
