Basketball world takes to Twitter to thank Lauren Jackson

When a three-time WNBA MVP, two-time WNBA champion and four-time Olympic medalist announces her retirement, there's not much more to say than "thanks."

And that was exactly the sentiment spreading across social media when 34-year-old Lauren Jackson of the Seattle Storm announced the end of her legendary career on Thursday in Australia.

Jackson, who hasn't played in the WNBA since 2012 due to knee injuries, sits in sixth place on the league's all-time scoring list. She is the Storm's all-time leader in scoring (6,007), rebounding (2,447) and blocks (586).
