Toss Ireland chose to bowl vs West Indies

Ireland won the toss and put West Indies in to bat as they look to close out their campaign with the first ever win in the T20 World Cup. A win for West Indies will confirm their spot in the semi-finals.

The one change each made by both teams does alter the balance of the sides. Ireland brought in a pacer for a spinner as Jane Maguire replaced Lara McBride. West Indies, whose batters have been short on runs, have left out Karishma Ramharack and brought in Qiana Joseph to open the batting and provide a left-arm spin option.

The conditions were slightly overcast at Bristol with the weather going up to a maximum of 27 degrees. The pitch is the same as the one used for Sri Lanka vs West Indies, which was a low-scoring affair. Carlos Brathwaite, at the pitch report, expected the wicket to not change during the course of the game.

There is a slight bias in terms of the square boundaries - 59 metres to one side, 62 metres to the other. The straight hit while bowling from the Briston Pavilion end is 70 metres.
