Toss Australia chose to bat vs Pakistan
Australia have won the toss and opted to bat first in their T20 World Cup match against Pakistan at Headingley.
In announcing an unchanged XI as Australia seek a fourth win from as many games, Sophie Molineux, their captain, said Beth Mooney had pulled up fine from the back soreness which prompted her to retire hurt on 74 during Saturday's 98-run victory over Netherlands. That means Georgia Voll won't have to reprise her rare role as back-up wicketkeeper.
As expected, top-order batter Phoebe Litchfield remains on the bench after a quad injury, although Molineux said her recovery was tracking well.
"It looks a pretty good deck," Molineux said. "Phoebs is training really well and getting really close but we're unchanged today… Moons will be absolutely fine."
Pakistan, who are still seeking their first win of the tournament and are therefore out of contention for the knockout phase, have made two changes to the side which lost to Bangladesh on Saturday.
Diana Baig, the 30-year-old right-arm seamer with 57 T20I appearances to her name, comes in for her first match of the tournament, and off-spinner Rameen Shamim returns after missing the Bangladesh match. Making way are Tuba Hassan and Tasmia Rubab.
Fatima Sana, Pakistan's captain, said she also would have chosen to bat first. "We just want to play good cricket against them," Sana said. "We're just trying to give chances to Diana because she's a senior player."
