Toss Punjab Kings chose to bowl vs Lucknow Super Giants
In a match that they had to win to stay in the playoffs race, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to chase. He confirmed two changes with allrounder Marco Jansen and fast bowler Vijaykumar Vyshak coming in for Lockie Ferguson and Harpreet Brar. It is very likely that Marcus Stoinis will step into the XI as Impact Player, later in the game.
Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant said sorry to the fans for the disappointing campaign they've had. He would've also liked to have bowled first on Saturday based on his assessment of the pitch, which seemed to be that it was one of the best one they've seen for batting in Lucknow all season. He expected a "high-scoring game."
LSG made a few changes, handing left-arm quick Arjun Tendulkar a debut and bringing in Arshin Kulkarni for Mitchell Marsh who has left the tournament.
