Never before has a higher target been chased down in T20 history. Here are the numbers from Punjab Kings' (PBKS) incredible chase against Delhi Capitals (DC).

116 for 0 - PBKS' total in the powerplay, the second-highest in the IPL and also the joint-second-highest in men's T20s overall, where data is available. The highest is 125 for 0 by SRH, also against DC, in Delhi in 2024.

82 - Boundaries hit by DC and PBKS, the most in any T20 game. The previous highest was 81, on three occasions: South Africa vs West Indies in 2023, RCB vs SRH in 2024, and SRH vs RR in 2025.

42 - Boundaries that DC hit through their innings, the joint-second-highest by any team in an IPL innings. SRH hit 46 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 2025, while RCB had 42 against PWI in 2013.

3.5 - Overs in which PBKS hit ten sixes in their innings, the earliest any team has hit that many in a men's T20 innings, where data is available. SRH against DC in 2024 and Bangladesh A against Hong Kong got to the mark in five overs.

DC vs PBKS, IPL 2026 - This knock could be a game-changer for KL Rahul, Deep Dasgupta says

152* - KL Rahul's score is the third-highest in the IPL, behind only Chris Gayle's 175* against Pune Warriors India (PWI) in 2013 and Brendon McCullum's 158* against RCB in 2008.

Rahul's 152* is also the highest individual score in the IPL by an Indian, surpassing Abhishek Sharma's 141, also against PBKS, in 2025. Rahul also set a new record for the highest individual score by an Indian in men's T20s, bettering Tilak Varma's 151 against Meghalaya in 2024.

1 - Rahul's 152* is now the highest T20 score to end on the losing side. The previous highest was 151* by Gayle for Somerset against Kent in 2015.

Four of Rahul's eight T20 hundreds have ended up on the losing side, including three in the IPL, the joint-most alongside Virat Kohli.

6 - Hundreds for Rahul in the IPL, the joint-third-highest by any batter. Three of those have come while playing as a keeper, joint-highest alongside Quinton de Kock and Sanju Samson.

47 - Balls that Rahul took to complete the hundred, his fastest in the IPL. His previous fastest was off 56 balls against Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2023.

It is only the second time that Rahul took less than 50 balls for a T20 hundred, the other being a 46-ball ton against West Indies in a T20I in 2016. Rahul now has eight hundreds in T20 cricket; he has been unbeaten on each of those eight occasions.

264 for 2 - DC's total was their highest in the IPL. Overall, it is the eighth-highest total in the IPL, with five of the top six belonging to SRH. Later in the chase, PBKS registered their highest total in the IPL.

220 - Rahul's partnership with Nitish Rana for the second wicket, the second-highest in the IPL. The highest is 229 by AB de Villiers and Kohli for RCB against Gujarat Lions in 2016.

It is also the first 200-plus partnership in the IPL for DC, bettering the 189* by David Warner and Naman Ojha against Deccan Chargers in 2012.

It is also the highest T20 partnership by an Indian pair, bettering the 213 by Suryakumar Yadav and Shreyas Iyer for Mumbai against Sikkim in 2019.

162 for 1 - Runs that DC scored in the last ten overs, the joint-second-highest in an IPL innings. The highest is 172 for 2 by RCB against Gujarat Lions in 2016, while Kings XI Punjab also scored 162 for 2 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in 2014. DC scored 145 runs without losing a wicket through the middle overs (7-16), the fourth-highest in an IPL innings.

10 - Bowlers who conceded 40-plus runs on Saturday, the joint-highest for any T20 game. The BBL game between Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers from last December also had ten bowlers going for 40 or more runs.
