Worcestershire made the most of the bowler-friendly conditions at New Road to dismiss Lancashire for 180 on a stop-start day of Rothesay County Championship Division Two action.
Having lost the entirety of day one to rain, the home side pushed the game on to see Lancashire to 60 for 4 at lunch, but Keaton Jennings' vital half-century kept the visitors in the fight.
Beyers Swanepoel (4 for 37) and a Fateh Singh three-fer pushed the Pears into the ascendency whilst dodging the rain, but some late resistance saw the away side scrap to 180.
Tom Bailey snagged a wicket in the first over of the reply to reduce Worcestershire to 12 for 1, but saw progress halted late on as play was suspended for bad light.
Inserted to bat first on an overcast morning, Lancashire endured a challenging start at New Road, losing Matty Hurst early on as the right hander edged a Tom Taylor ball to backward point.

A plucky 63-ball-26 from Ben Walkden proved valuable before he was snared by Singh (3 for 27), but a second rain interruption of the day meant play was halted until 4:55pm, where upon resumption Tom Bailey added a useful 34 from number ten in Lancashire's final total of 180.
It was Bailey who then sparked his team into life just four balls into the reply by snaring Dan Lategan and could have had two in the over had an Edavalath edge carried to keeper Hurst.
Jake Libby and Rehaan Edavalath survived the remaining five overs that were possible in the day, before the umpires withdrew the players from the field shortly before 6pm for bad light, with Worcestershire closing 12 for 1 and both sides looking to edge ahead on a crucial third morning.
