Heneghan's TD strike lifts Dartmouth over Cornell 17-13
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Jack Heneghan hit Charles Mack for a go-ahead TD, the Big Green defense stopped the Big Red on the ensuing drive and Dartmouth rallied to beat Cornell 17-13 on Saturday for its first Ivy League conference win.
Cornell (3-5, 1-4) was hurt by an offensive holding penalty on its final drive and the Big Red punted after three consecutive passes by Dalton Banks fell incomplete.
Cornell led 6-3 at halftime on a pair of Nickolas Null field goals, then led 13-3 after Banks hit Hayes Nolte on a 4-yard scoring strike.
Dartmouth rallied with consecutive TDs in the fourth quarter, on a 1-yard run by Miles Smith (119 yards on 25 carries) and on Heneghan's pass to Mack.
Heneghan was 22 of 33 for 226 yards passing for Dartmouth (4-4, 1-4), which outgained Cornell 405-270 in total yards.
