Harvard beats Columbia 28-21, stays on top in Ivy

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Joseph Viviano III threw for three touchdowns as Harvard rallied in the second half to defend its unbeaten conference record, defeating Columbia 28-21 on Saturday.

Viviano had 260 yards on 17 of 34 passing for the Crimson (7-1, 5-0 Ivy League). Charlie Booker ran for 69 yards and a score and Adam Scott had 109 yards and two scores receiving.

Viviano threw for two touchdowns in the third quarter and Booker ran 15 yards for another score to help Harvard climb to a 28-14 lead after trailing 14-7 at halftime.

Columbia was driving and within striking distance with just over a minute to play when Tanner Lee intercepted an Anders Hill pass, preserving Harvard's winning margin.

The Lions (2-6, 1-4) are 0-6 this season when scoring a touchdown, 2-0 when they don't.

Hill threw for 110 yards and a score for Columbia and Skyler Mornhinweg added 78 yards with a touchdown.
