McNeese State comes back to beat Central Arkansas 28-13
CONWAY, Ark. -- Wallace Scott scooped up a fumble and raced 45 yards for the score to give McNeese State the lead in the fourth quarter and the Cowboys went on to beat Central Arkansas 28-13 on Saturday night.
Trailing 13-7 after three quarters, Scott's fumble return with 14:50 left in the game sparked the Cowboys, who outscored Central Arkansas 21-0 in the fourth.
Ryan Ross ran for 100 yards and rushed for a 10-yard score with 9:47 left in the game to give McNeese State (6-0, 5-0 Southland Conference) a 21-13 advantage. The Cowboys are the only undefeated team in the conference after knocking off Central Arkansas (3-3, 3-1).
McNeese State's Daniel Sams, who was held to just 15 yards rushing and 60 passing, had two rushing touchdowns.
Hayden Hildebrand led Central Arkansas, throwing for 261 yards on 29-of-51 passing. Desmond Smith grabbed 12 passes for 159 yards.
