Wagner beats Central Connecticut 28-7
NEW YORK -- Otis Wright ran for 193 yards and a score as Wagner notched its first win of the season, rolling over Central Connecticut 28-7 on Saturday.
Wright carried 24 times for the Seahawks (1-9, 1-4 Northeast Conference). Alex Thompson finished with 7-of-13 passing for 72 yards. He also ran for 64 yards and a score. Matthias McKinnon ran for two touchdowns.
Thompson scored on a 40-yard run midway through the first quarter. McKinnon followed that with another touchdown with 4:58 left in the quarter and the Seahawks led 14-0 at the break.
Wright and McKinnon each scored from short yardage in the third quarter to make it 28-0.
Wagner intercepted Jacob Dolegala three times during the game and held the Blue Devils (4-7, 3-3) to 267 total yards.
Dolegala was 11 of 22 for 150 yards and a score for CCSU.
