DelMauro scores in OT to give Bucknell a 28-22 win over VMI
LEXINGTON, Va. -- Matt DelMauro broke for a 23-yard scoring run in overtime to give Bucknell a 28-22 victory over VMI on Saturday.
VMI's Dillion Christopher, who made a 40-yard field goal at the end of regulation to send it into extra time, missed a 38-yard attempt in overtime. Bucknell (3-1) took over and two plays later DelMauro was in the end zone.
Joey DeFloria, who finished with 137 yards on three kick returns, returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and R.J. Nitti hit Will Carter on a nine-yard scoring strike and then ran for the two-point conversion with 5:02 remaining in regulation to give Bucknell a 22-19 lead
Al Cobb, who threw for 251 yards and two scores, drove VMI (1-4) 58 yards in 11 plays to set up Christopher's 40-yard field goal with six seconds remaining in the game.
Nitti passed for 188 yards and one touchdown.
