Youngstown State rolls over Missouri State 47-7
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Hunter Wells threw three touchdowns as Youngstown State rolled over Missouri State 47-7 on Saturday.
Wells completed 15 of 25 passes for 241 yards for the Penguins (5-4, 3-3 Missouri Valley Conference). Jody Webb rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown and Martin Rulz ran for 100 yards and a score. The team amassed 644 yards in offense and held the Bears (1-8, 0-6) to just 107 yards.
Wells threw three touchdowns in the first half, including a 72-yard scoring pass to Andrew Williams midway through the second quarter and Youngstown State led 31-0. Ricky Davis punched it in from the 1 on the team's next drive to give the Penguins a 38-7 lead at halftime.
Missouri State's only score came with 42 seconds left in the first half on a 20-yard pass from Brodie Lambert to Zac Hoover.
Lambert finished with just 64 yards passing and was intercepted twice.
