McNeese St. barrels past Weber St., 43-6
LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Marcus Wiltz and Kelvin Bennett each rushed for over 100 yards in McNeese State's 43-6 blowout of Weber State Saturday night.
Wiltz led in rushing with 140 yards and a touchdown for the Cowboys (4-0). Bennett was close behind with 122 yards and a pair of touchdowns of his own, one being a 50-yard run in the fourth quarter, the last score of the game.
McNeese State also managed a strong passing game with Cody Stroud throwing for a game-high 189 yards and one touchdown. The Wildcats had 85 passing yards in comparison.
However, Austin Chipoletti's 48-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Livingston staked Weber State (1-3) to a short-lived early lead about five minutes into the game. Chipoletti threw an interception near the end of the first quarter that was returned for a touchdown, sparking a 43-point scoring streak for the Cowboys that went uncontested.
