VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Davidson converted its PAT kick following its overtime touchdown but Valparaiso did not after its score, sealing a 28-27 victory for Davidson on Saturday.
Valparaiso (1-9, 1-6 Pioneer) scored first during the extra period on a 4-yard pass from Eric Hoffman to Tanner Kuramata, but the PAT attempt by Mike Pando failed.
That opened the door for Davidson (2-8, 2-5), which scored on a 2-yard pass from Jonathan Carkuff to Lanny Funsten. Robert Schick booted the PAT for the win.
Davidson trailed 21-14 entering the fourth quarter, and Carkuff scored on his second 1-yard run of the day with 13:50 left. He completed 37 of 56 passes for 395 yards and a TD.
Reese Williams had 10 receptions for 131 yards for Davidson, and Alex Grask had 15 tackles and a fumble recovery.
