PORTLAND, Ore. -- Dominic Gunn helped Northern Colorado rally from an 18-point third-quarter deficit with an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown and a 29-yard pass reception for a 32-28 victory over Portland State on Saturday.
Portland State (3-6, 2-4 Big Sky) had a 28-10 lead midway through the third quarter. Gunn's long punt return came with 6:36 left in the third, and quarterback Seth Lobato slipped in for a 1-yard scoring run with 36 seconds left in the third.
Lobato and Gunn capped a 6-play, 57-yard drive for Northern Colorado (3-6, 2-4) with their go-ahead scoring pass with 7:26 left in the game.
Lobato completed 26 of 42 passes for 316 yards and a pair of TDs. Portland State's Kieran McDonagh was 17 of 31 for 153 yards and a TD.
