Albany Great Danes @ Maine Black Bears

ORONO, Maine -- Drew Smith rushed for 114 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns as Albany (N.Y.) held off Maine 30-20 Saturday night in a preview of the Great Danes' move to the Colonial Athletic Association next season.
After Albany (3-1), currently a member of the Northeast Conference, kicked three first-quarter field goals, the Black Bears (1-2) closed to 9-7 with 10:40 to go in the third quarter.
Kevin Chillis answered on the Great Danes' next play with a 74-yard touchdown run.
Brian Harvey's 31-yard field goal made it 16-10, then Smith capped a nine-play, 66-yard drive with a 9-yard TD to open the fourth quarter.
After the Black Bears again stalled in the red zone, settling for a 30-yard field goal, Smith scampered 27 yards for a score with 5:48 remaining.
Maine's Marcus Wasilewski, who was 23 of 36 for 264 yards, threw his second touchdown for the final margin with 2:15 left.
