LEXINGTON, Va. (AP) -- Nuru Goodrum rushed for a career-high 175

yards and two touchdowns to lead The Citadel to a 22-14 win over

VMI Saturday in the Military Classic of the South.

Goodrum had a 1-yard run, Kinta Palmer caught an 8-yard

touchdown pass from Ben Carnell and Blake Vandiver kicked a 34-yard

field goal to give the Bulldogs (4-7) a 15-7 halftime lead.

The Keydets (3-8) led 6-7 going into the second quarter after a

3-yard scoring run by Nat Jackson. Quarterback Jonathan Wilson ran

for a 6-yard touchdown to pull VMI to 22-14 with 7:43 remaining.

The Bulldogs had 288 yards of total offense and kept VMI to 189

yards. The Citadel Quarterback Ben Carnell was 11-of-22 for 81

yards. Wilson finished 17-of-28 for 158 yards for VMI.

This is the 64th meeting between the rivals, who started the

series in 1920. The Citadel leads the series 32-30-2.
