AURORA, Ill. (AP) -- Jeff Horton ran for 186 yards on 30 carries
to lead Valparaiso to a 13-7 victory over Division III Aurora on
Saturday.
Sal Washington ran 10 times for 17 yards, including a 4-yard
touchdown run in the first quarter that gave Valparaiso (3-8, 1-6
Pioneer) an early lead. Andrew McCawley added field goals of 34 and
28 yards to give the Crusaders a 13-0 cushion.
Andrew Hornung led Aurora (5-5, 5-2 Illini Badger), completing
16 of 30 passes for 171 yards. Hornung also connected with Joe
Folliard for a 10-yard touchdown strike in the third quarter for
the Spartans' only score.
The Spartans managed only 16 total rushing yards in the loss.
