News: 5 days agoDaniels caught eight passes on 13 targets for 68 yards during the Rams' 34-0 preseason win over the Saints on Saturday.
Spin: The rookie sixth-rounder saw far more work Saturday than he did in the Rams' preseason opener against the Chiefs. Daniels ended up leading both teams in catches, receiving yards and targets, and he logged receptions of 11, 17 and 11 yards on the Rams' final offensive series of the first half, leading to a 26-yard field goal by Harrison Mevis. Daniels is up to 10 catches on 18 targets for 86 yards through two preseason games, and he has real momentum toward earning a depth spot on the Rams' 53-man roster by the end of training camp. His last opportunity for an in-game audition will take place Thursday in the Rams' preseason finale against the Chargers.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Daniels was selected by the Rams in the sixth round of April's draft. It helped that he played in 68 games across six seasons at Liberty, LSU and Miami, but Daniels ranked third in this WR rookie class in receiving yards (2,991) and second in TD receptions (28) for his career. His overall efficiency was good, though he failed to emerge as anything more than a secondary target once he left Liberty. Daniels will battle for a roster spot and is no more than a dynasty stash.
