Spin: Johnson is coming off a 2025 regular season in which he posted a 45-528-5 line on 74 targets in 15 games, but the arrival of TE Isaiah Likely via free agency has provided the former with some competition at the position ahead of his third pro campaign. With the shoulder injury he picked up in an Aug. 24 practice behind Johnson, he'll focus on being a regular part of the Giants offense in Sunday's Week 1 matchup with the Cowboys.

ESPN Fantasy Projection: Johnson was a solid find by the Giants in the fourth round of the 2024 draft, but he's headed for a reduced role this season following New York's signing of Isaiah Likely and Malik Nabers' return to health. The change comes after Johnson ranked top 12 among tight ends in both snaps and routes, but 23rd in catches and 19th in yards last season. Johnson was busy near the goal line (seven end zone targets), but struggled with drops (tight end-high nine), which led to a poor 63% catch rate. Johnson finished 23rd in fantasy PPG and now may be lucky to see a target or two per game. He's well off the fantasy radar.
