As if there wasn’t enough reason for Florida and Florida State not to like each other, five-star cornerback commit Levonta Taylor from Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes decided to add some fuel to the fire on Tuesday.
The 13th-ranked player in the ESPN 300 took to twitter to claim that he is better than Florida All-American cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III was at the same stage in high school. Hargreaves was the No. 3-ranked player in the class of 2013 and won MVP of the Under Armour All-America game.
It started when a fan tweeted to Taylor "@iamlevonta is another Vernon Hargreaves." Taylor responded with "I’m better" with a winking smiley face emoji. It didn’t end there though. Taylor went on to send out two more tweets about his comparison to Hargreaves.
I'm better 😉.. https://t.co/JPLaJKwici

Vern is real but I'm on a higher level than he was in high school. I can't speak on college yet I have another year of high school left!

Taylor did give Hargreaves credit at one point, but never backed down from his claim of being better than Hargreaves was in high school.
Like I said @_VH3 is the real deal . I'm not taking anything from that man & what he earned . Give credit where it's due💯

Taylor certainly will have a lot to live up to in college, but in a rivalry that has never had a shortage of trash-talking, the No. 1-ranked cornerback in the country should fit right in.
